Neoclassical composition

A full staccato piece and a lots of diminished rhythm patterns.

This lesson is inspired by the music of guitar players like Vinnie Moore, Tony Macalpine and many other Shrapnel Records shred guitar players.

Today we have an interesting neoclassical solo. This is a great exercise where we will combine 2 & 3 strings sweeps and legato. The chord progression is in Am key and I used the different arpeggios to create the solo. In the end of the solo I used A harmonic minor scale.

... this type of playing is really fun! and it's more tricky to play than it might appear. The pitch has to be close to perfect most of the time, and that's quite a challenge. The basic chords are the same as in the standard blues but I also added F7, A#7 C7 which adds a somewhat lazy and cool feeling to it

Heavy guitar riffs played at shred speed. Combines 16th note triplets and 16th notes at 144 bpm.

A few licks using the Dorian and minor pentatonic scale. The following licks are very usable in most musical situations.

Metal with some groove. A shuffle which allows to create interesting phrasing ideas. Combines alternate picking, legato, and sweep picking.

The Lydian mode is one of my favorites. It brings a mysterious kind of feel to a major 7th chord and is often used to "open up" a musical piece.
